Speak their language, even a little, and nobody's alone in the chair.

Knowing a language isn't enough

A dental appointment has its own script. You have to greet the patient, take a medical history, explain a procedure, ask about pain, give post-op instructions, and build enough trust that they come back. General language courses never teach any of it.

Not another language app.Not a translation tool.Dental language training.

Translation gets you through a sentence. DentaLingo teaches you the conversation, so the words come from you, not from a phone. That's what builds trust in the chair.

A translator

It speaks for you. Your patient hears a device, and looks at it instead of you.

DentaLingo

You speak. Your patient hears you trying in their language, and relaxes.

Who it's for

For dental students

Walk into clinic ready for the patient who doesn't speak your language, with the phrases you'll use in a real encounter, not on an exam.

For dental professionals

Communicate more confidently with multilingual patients, without relying on a relative to interpret or an app in your pocket.

Too busy to learn a language?

Practise for five minutes between patients, before clinic, or on your commute. Streaks that survive a busy week.

Questions we get asked

How can I learn Spanish for dentistry?

Start from the phrases you will actually use in an appointment rather than from a general Spanish course. DentaLingo is a free app that teaches dental Spanish in short lessons following one real visit — greeting, medical history, examination, anesthesia, treatment, pain, post-op instructions, payment — with pronunciation practice and an AI patient you can hold a conversation with.

Is dental Spanish different from medical Spanish?

Yes. Medical Spanish is written for physicians: symptoms, body systems, hospital wards. A dental appointment has its own script and its own words — teeth and gums, fillings and X-rays, "bite down", "rinse please", "you'll feel a small pinch" — and general medical courses barely touch them.

Do I need to speak the language already?

No. Lessons start at greetings and build from there, and every new phrase comes back in review until it sticks. The AI patient is held to the vocabulary you have already been taught, so a conversation never runs past what you know.

Which languages does it teach?

Spanish, English and Portuguese — and any of the three can be learned from either of the other two. A Brazilian dentist can learn dental Spanish, a dental student in the US can learn dental Portuguese.

Is it free?

Yes. The whole course is free, with no subscription and no in-app purchases. The phrase guides on this site need no account at all.
